Around 1.5. billion cotton buds are produced worldwide every day. The production and transport create enormous CO2 emmisions for a hygiene item that finds its way into the rubbish and often into the world’s oceans after a single use. Three Danish product designers Kare Frandsen, Isabel Aagaard and Nicolas Aagaard have taken on this immense single-use plastic problem and brought the first reusable cotton swab onto the market with the resource-saving reusable product LastSwab. LastSwab ist part of the LastObject company, which focuses on the development and distribution of sustainable reusable products. The company focuses on resource-saving alternatives to typical disposable articles. Behind LastObject for Germany, France and Switzerland is the company Akos Santé, which specialises in the distribution of innovative products for health and well-being. The managing director is Jean Suisse-Guillaud.
