Stuttgart, April 29, 2025: The sustainable rum brand Flor de Caña from Nicaragua continues to inspire with innovative campaigns that set new trends in the bar landscape. The Sustainable Cocktail Challenge launched by Flor de Caña will continue to promote and reward sustainable mixology in environmentally conscious bars around the world in 2025. This year, the sustainable rum brand is setting an example for the bar scene and announcing this year's challenge with a unique kick-off tour with guest shifts by Brand Ambassador Benjamin Braun and bartender Lukas Motejzik and a Sustainable Cocktail Workshop by and with Lukas Motejzik in selected bars.
The Sustainable Cocktail Challenge inspires bartenders around the world to create sustainable cocktails using Flor de Caña rum - the world's only carbon-neutral and fair trade certified spirit - and other sustainable ingredients and techniques. The most sustainable and best cocktail will be awarded in the grand finale in Nicaragua and the creator of this cocktail will win the Sustainable Cocktail Challenge. This year with a little twist. There is a predetermined theme: Celebrating Classic Cocktails. Each participant will have to interpret a well-known classic in their own sustainable way.
A uniquely informative tour
Flor de Caña has always been committed to the bar scene and an environmentally conscious existence. The brand constantly surprises with campaigns that promote climate-conscious and sustainable thinking throughout the bar culture - both nationally and internationally. The brand has already won various prizes for this, such as the Green Product Award. This year, the Sustainable Cocktail Challenge will not only be announced, but also celebrated. There will be a kick-off tour at the start of the registration period. The unique tour through Germany's bars will take place from May 5 to May 20. Benjamin Braun, German Brand Ambassador for Flor de Caña, will be taking part. Special guest at all locations will be Lukas Motejzik, nationally renowned bartender and owner of the Zephyr Bar in Munich. Together, the rum lovers will offer workshops on sustainable cocktail mixing.
The "Sustainable Cocktail Workshop" has been created to encourage registrations for this year's Sustainable Cocktail Challenge, deepen the overall theme and raise awareness on the topic of sustainability. The tour will be held in the cities of Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne, Hamburg and Munich. Benjamin Braun and Lukas Motejzik will also be giving a guest shift in the cities of Stuttgart and in their own brand space at Pallas Hamburg, demonstrating how professionals are at home behind the bar. At each location, friends of mixology and sustainability are welcome to take part in the workshops and meet together.
