Environment Day

Protecting the environment with ease

Berlin, May 2025: For Environment Day on June 5, 2025, Schmidt Spiele is raising awareness among children and families about the environment and how we can protect it through play. In exciting games such as Captain Nature and e-Mission, saving the environment is in the hands of the players and thus creates awareness for the topic of environmental protection. These interactive games promote awareness of sustainability, recycling and the protection of biodiversity in an entertaining way. In production, the new Graspuzzle product scores points with its resource-saving production.

More environmentally friendly production, with full fun: NATPAX® as a world first
Full quality with resource-saving production: that's the promise of the Graspuzzle from Schmidt Spiele®, launched at the beginning of 2025. The 1.9 millimeter thick puzzle board under the NATPAX® brand from Schmidt Spiele consists of around 40 percent grass and 60 percent recycled paper, a resource-saving and sustainable alternative that saves up to 15% CO2 emissions during production. Particular savings are made in the areas of water and energy consumption. The characteristic green puzzle board underlines the green concept of this world first, which meets the requirements of EN-71 Part 3 "Toy Safety". The grass comes from Germany, from soccer stadiums and ready-made grass production facilities, and the raw material extraction and processing also takes place in Germany. The grass puzzles from Schmidt Spiele show how innovative materials and sustainable production can make a positive contribution to environmental protection.

Playfully illustrated for children: Captain Nature on an environmental mission
This game not only uses an innovative game mechanism, but also conveys an important environmental message in a child-friendly way. The imaginary game environment is the sea, and the mission is to remove garbage from the bay and protect the habitat of marine life. The game is designed with children in mind and contains details that reflect reality, such as collecting sea creatures while litter fishing. A simple reward system for collecting garbage playfully shows children aged six and up how important it is to protect the oceans. It teaches them that all our waste has an impact and that any prevention already makes a difference to marine habitats.

e-Mission cooperatively save the world in the Connoisseur Game of the Year 2024
The game e-Mission offers a very special challenge for connoisseurs: it is thematically dedicated to environmental, climate and nature conservation and aims to save the world cooperatively. The mission sounds simple but is challenging: to reduce global emissions to zero and thus stop climate change. Players take on the roles of major nations and groups of countries in order to tackle the climate crisis together. The game requires strategic thinking, global cooperation and the correct assessment of one's own actions. The mission can only succeed if everyone works together towards the goal and correctly assesses the consequences of their actions. The award-winning Connoisseur Game of the Year 2024 is not only fun, but also stimulates reflection and raises awareness of climate protection beyond the gaming table.

Schmidt Spiele combines sustainable production with environmentally conscious fun and responsible themes. With innovative materials and educational games such as Captain Nature and e-Mission, the company sensitizes children and adults to environmental protection and climate change - for a common future.
