Rethinking family vacations

Active vacations for all generations at Hotel Winkler on Plan de Corones/Kronplatz

Family vacation rethought

Active vacations for all generations at Hotel Winkler on Plan de Corones/Kronplatz

St. Lorenzen/Berlin, February 17, 2026 Family vacations are no longer an either-or proposition. It is a combination of time spent together and individual interests. At the Hotel Winkler on Plan de Corones/Kronplatz in South Tyrol, this is exactly what makes a harmonious concept: children and
Children and teenagers experience independent programs with substance, adults spend their days doing sports, activities or regeneration - and yet there is still room for moments together.

The structure of the hotel underlines this approach. Spacious family suites with separate children's rooms create opportunities to retreat in comfort.
At the same time, the offer is organized in such a way that days can be arranged flexibly - not according to a rigid schedule, but according to personal rhythm.

Start the day actively - at your own pace

The day starts without a fixed rhythm. Some guests get off to a sporty start - for example with a round of golf at the Pustertal Golf Club just two minutes away, where the green fee is 100 percent reimbursed. Others opt for a guided hike in the Dolomites, a bike tour around Plan de Corones/Kronplatz or quiet exercise sessions such as yoga, Pilates or Qi Gong.

At the Hotel Winkler, activity does not come from obligation, but from your own rhythm
Out of your own rhythm. Sporting impulses, the experience of nature and conscious movement
organically into the day - as a couple, individually or together with the family.

Children's and youth program with ambition

The offer for young guests is clearly organized and qualitatively positioned. Children from the age of three are looked after daily. The program combines creative workshops, indoor and outdoor games, small sports tournaments, craft and painting workshops as well as supervised dinners at the children's dining table. A lovingly designed playroom with a playhouse, ball pool, creative corners and age-appropriate retreats provides additional freedom.

Teenagers will find their own areas in the house, which deliberately function differently to traditional children's entertainment. The 150 square meter fun sports hall with air field hockey, billiards, table tennis and table soccer becomes a meeting place. There is also an indoor climbing and bouldering wall with a modern safety system and an in-house cinema with a daily film program. In selected vacation periods, supervised outdoor experiences such as
Rafting, climbing or mountain bike technique training complete the program - activities that promote
Activities that promote independence and are professionally supervised at the same time.

Camps with a profile

A highlight of the vacation calendar is the five-day soccer camp for girls and boys aged between five and 15. From Monday to Friday, the participants train on the pitch for two hours each morning. Technique courses, specific forms of practice and tournament games are clearly structured and supervised by experienced licensed coaches, including former professional players such as Jürgen Holletzek. Supplementary talk rounds and quiz formats
also involve parents. Anyone who wants to can take part in training sessions themselves - a deliberate offer for a shared experience.

The riding camp for six to 16-year-olds in the hotel's own riding stable, which is one of the most modern in South Tyrol, is just as well structured. Over the course of five vacation days, the participants gain insights into different riding styles, are accompanied in seat training and correction and acquire basic knowledge about the keeping, care and behaviour of horses. The daily work in the stables creates closeness to the animal and conveys a sense of responsibility. The course concludes with a competition with an integrated knowledge quiz - a format that combines sporting ambition with
with in-depth content.

Both camps will be offered in May and October 2026 on selected dates during the Whitsun and fall vacations.

3.500 square meters of spa and water world

The heart of the Hotel Winkler is the 3,500 square meter spa and water world, which opens up a dimension of its own with a total of 500 square meters of water. Seven pools are spread across indoor and outdoor areas, creating places each with their own unique atmosphere
Atmosphere. The spacious indoor panorama pool with open fireplace combines space with comfort, the outdoor infinity pool opens up views of the Dolomite landscape, while the rooftop pool is reserved for adults and creates a deliberately tranquil accent above the rooftops of the hotel.

While children swim and play in their own areas, adults will find a clearly defined area in the
Premium Spa, adults aged 18 and over will find a clearly defined retreat zone. Finnish panorama event sauna, herbal bio sauna, brine steam bath and infrared sauna are complemented several times a day by guided infusions and peelings. Relaxation booths with cuddly nests, whirlpool, cold water channel, Kneipp course and the Adam & Eve indoor nude pool combine to create a spa experience that combines architectural clarity with functional depth.

Individually tailored spa treatments set additional accents. This makes regeneration a natural part of your stay.

Balance as a principle

The Hotel Winkler stands for a modern interpretation of a family vacation. Children and teenagers experience structured programs with quality. Adults can choose between sports, nature experiences and spa. And in between, there is always time to spend together - while swimming, at dinner or on the terrace with a view of the Dolomites.

Not constant animation, not a retreat into privacy, but balance. This is precisely the strength of this hotel at Kronplatz.
