Berlin, January 2026. 75 years of professional exchange, 75 years of innovations, 75 years of trends and market developments - Spielwarenmesse® Nuremberg has stood for inspiration, encounters and the future of the toy industry for three quarters of a century and has been firmly anchored in Schmidt Spiele's diary for many years. The Berlin games publisher is congratulating the world's largest trade fair for toys with a special trade fair appearance to mark its anniversary, a joint campaign and an exclusive special edition of the classic German board game "Mensch ärgere Dich Nicht®".
For Schmidt Spiele, the Spielwarenmesse® is much more than just a product show. "The Spielwarenmesse embodies a real sense of community, almost like a big family reunion for the industry. Inspiring exchanges, established networks and new impulses are what make it so valuable," says Axel Kaldenhoven, Managing Director of Schmidt Spiele GmbH.
To mark its 75th anniversary, Schmidt Spiele will have a special stand where the publisher will be presenting its creative innovation "My ArtNOBLE®", among other things. The new product range enables players to artistically design and individually refine works by the well-known painter Thomas Kinkade. Based on the creative novelty, an exclusive special motif is being created for the Spielwarenmesse® anniversary, showing the Albrecht Dürer House in Nuremberg and the Spielwarenmesse® logo. A special highlight: visitors to the fair are invited to become part of the artwork themselves and contribute to it together. The completed joint painting will then be ceremoniously handed over to the Spielwarenmesse® Nürnberg management - as a symbolic sign of cohesion, creativity and the shared history of the industry.
In addition, Schmidt Spiele is congratulating with a specially developed anniversary edition of "Mensch ärgere Dich Nicht®". The game picks up on the historical design of the first edition and was customized especially for the Spielwarenmesse®: Instead of classic game pieces, so-called meeples in the shape of the iconic Spielwarenmesse®logo are used - a playful homage to the history of the fair and its significance for the industry.
Axel Kaldenhoven, Managing Director of Schmidt Spiele, will present each of the three board members with an individual copy.
