Obergurgl/Tyrol, September 2026. The 2026/27 winter season kicks off in mid-November in the Tyrolean ski resort of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl with the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Slalom for women and men. At the same time, the new season begins at the Hochfirst***** – The Luxury Mountain Resort . Starting November 19, the hotel will welcome its guests with three new comfort highlights: a redesigned lobby, a new ski-in & ski-out area with direct access to the ski storage room, and a fitness studio spanning over 100 m² with panoramic views.
The season opening will be supported by Laurent Perrier, La Biosthétique, and Atomic—select partners from the worlds of fine dining, beauty, and winter sports.
Luxury that blends seamlessly with the mountain experience
The new lobby sets the tone for the guest experience: a luxurious color palette and warm lighting create a welcoming atmosphere. From the comfortable lounge chairs, guests can enjoy views of the surrounding mountain landscape. The personalized concierge service ensures individual guest comfort.
The new fitness studio also combines functionality with an alpine ambiance. Equipped with Technogym machines, a free-weight area, and a yoga zone, it offers over
100 m² of diverse workout options. Here, too, the floor-to-ceiling windows guarantee a view of the surrounding peaks and the Festkogl.
Outdoor exercise and activity are also well catered for: Direct access to the slopes via the Festkoglbahn has always been one of the Hochfirst’s special advantages. New for the 2026/27 winter season is the ski storage area on the ground floor of the hotel, which guests will be able to enter directly from the slopes on their skis. Heated and ventilated lockers, ski boot dryers, and spacious changing areas ensure that ski gear can be conveniently stored and prepared for the next day.
A Winter Kickoff at the Highest Level
The Hochfirst is located at 1,930 meters directly on the slopes in the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area. Thanks to its high altitude, the ski area is among the most snow-reliable in the Alps and is the first non-glacier ski area to open for the season as early as mid-November. The ski area ranges from approximately 1,800 to 3,030 meters and offers 112 kilometers of slopes for skiers of all skill levels.
With the interior update, the Hochfirst will combine the guaranteed snow and skiing enjoyment in Gurgl with even more comfort right on the slopes for the upcoming 2026/27 winter season.
