Cuisine with character and clarity

w66 in Berlin-Mitte opens a new chapter

Berlin, October 2025 : With the transition to the cooler seasons, W66 in Berlin-Mitte is unveiling its new culinary direction. Together with Tracy Eckngik Nguyen, an American with Vietnamese roots, and Dagur Kaveh Radmanesh, an Icelander with Iranian roots, the kitchen has been rethought. Inspired by the Nordic clarity that can already be found in the interior design of W66, the new menu was created, which guests can now enjoy. The space, designed by Llot Llov, forms the framework for a cuisine that is dedicated to the essentials: individual products in changing textures, clear in expression, fine in detail.

"Simplicity, sensitivity and quality are our focus - on the plate as well as in the room," says Christian Wilke, founder of W66. "Whether during a lunch break, as an informal place for business meetings, for a culinary break between a cultural and sightseeing program, a relaxed meeting with friends or as an event location - we see W66 as a conscious place of serenity in Berlin-Mitte and offer hospitality that works quietly but for a long time."

Seasonal nuances brought to the point
The new menu at W66 reads like a gentle declaration of love to regional, seasonal produce. Yellow and red beetroot, cabbage, pumpkin, celeriac and carrots are an essential part of the culinary offerings. The cuisine follows a clear principle: less is more. Gentle cooking methods, the deliberate use of herbs, specially produced oils and the fermentation of vegetables give the dishes depth and character. With a keen sense of product quality and the flavor complexity of the individual ingredients, the kitchen team creates dishes that surprise - deliberately reduced, precisely crafted and full of flavor. Warming dishes such as tender braised beef cheek with celeriac variations, which meet the refreshing acidity of Granny Smith or roasted red cabbage with pearl barley and horseradish on a creamy leek sauce are an invitation to feel autumn on your tongue.

Reduced variety with culinary finesse
The clear focus is not only reflected in the dishes. Two salads, three main courses with meat or vegetarian options - one of which changes every week as a special - and two variations of sandwiches are the deliberately refined selection. Vegan options are also available on request. The W66's culinary delights are harmoniously rounded off by a selection of cakes, including an Icelandic skyr tart and the autumn classic apple pie, unusually refined with tonka bean whipped cream.

Contemporary aesthetics in historical charm
The clear, Nordic-inspired ambience of the Berlin design duo behind Llot Llov creates a very special feel-good atmosphere in the stately premises in the former Berlin post office building. It impresses with calm colors, natural materials and thoughtful restraint - an effective contrast to the ornate, historic stucco elements that adorn the ceiling thanks to a suspended construction. The large-scale works of art by Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery emphasize the clear interior design of the W66 and give it additional depth.
